Perimenopause and a Bikini Moment I’ll Never Forget

Unlock a New You with Body Confidence Coaching

I know with everything happening in the world, it can feel heavy sometimes, so thank you for making space to pause and catch up with me.

It’s been a bit full-on over here!
One of my kids just finished the Junior Cert (we’re all breathing a sigh of relief), and we’re also moving house — so things are feeling a little chaotic right now!

On the business side, I’ve just wrapped up my 3-month one-to-one style and coaching programme with some incredible women. It’s been such a joy to go deeper with clients — to really get to know them, support their transformation, and see the shift in confidence and style unfold over time.

It’s reminded me why I love this work so much.

👏 Summer Style Tip: Chafing Be Gone!

With the warmer weather (finally!) making an appearance, the dreaded thigh rub can be a real nuisance. So here are a few of my go-to pieces that make summer dressing so much more comfortable — whether you’re at home or heading away:

Anti Chafing Shorts

Shop The Look:
1: Marks & Spencer shaping shorts (2-pack)

2: Snag Tights “Chub Rub” shorts

3: Next anti-chafing shorts

They’re all discreet, comfy, and easy to wear under summer dresses.

💬 Real Talk: Perimenopause Has Arrived

The last 8 months have brought a whole new chapter — perimenopause.

It’s been eye-opening, exhausting, and a little overwhelming. From brain fog to heart palpitations, wild fatigue to unpredictable cycles and intense PMS… it’s a lot.

I’ve started taking magnesium and ashwagandha, which have helped, and I’ve been speaking with a few experts to understand what’s going on and how to support myself. One thing I’ve learned? You don’t have to just “get on with it”. Support is out there — but you may need to advocate for yourself.

If you’re navigating perimenopause too, my advice is to seek out a GP or specialist who really understands it. Don’t be afraid to ask if they’re trained in menopause care. And if something doesn’t feel right — trust yourself. Get a second opinion.

One resource I recommend is Luba O’Neill’s MenoWellness programme. Luba combines expert menopause knowledge with a mental health perspective, and her approach is incredibly supportive. Mention my name to get 20% off

👙 A Bikini Moment I’ll Never Forget

Last week, something unexpected happened: I wore a bikini in Ireland for the very first time in Ireland. (abroad yes but only in the last 3 years !) We had some lovely sunshine, and I brought my daughter to the beach. My regular swimsuit was still damp, so I pulled a bikini from the drawer — and off we went.

And you know what? I felt fine. Comfortable. Confident.
It wasn’t until I was in the sea that I realised how big a moment it really was.

my bikini moment

For most of my life, I never thought my body was “bikini-worthy.” I didn’t look like the women in magazines or the ones on the beach. And it was hard to find stylish swimwear that fit a size 14.

It wasn’t until my 30s, abroad, that I started seeing women of all shapes and sizes owning their bodies in bikinis. Back then, I thought they were brave. But now I know — they weren’t being brave. They just knew their worth.

These days, I sometimes do feel brave. Other days, not so much. But I never forget my worth.
And neither should you.

Your worth has nothing to do with how you look in a bikini. It’s taken me years to truly believe that — so if you’re still working on it, you’re not alone.

Small steps, lots of self-compassion, and a good support system can make all the difference.

Sending you lots of love and sunshine this summer,
Sarah x

Body Confidence Affirmations

body positive affirmation

Body confidence affirmations are a game-changer when it comes to how we feel about ourselves. When we ditch the negative self-talk and start speaking to ourselves with kindness, everything shifts.

When we ditch the negative self-talk and start speaking to ourselves with kindness, everything shifts.Saying things like “My body is strong and carries me through life” or “I deserve to feel good in my skin” rewires our mindset, helping us focus on what our bodies do for us rather than how they look.

The more we affirm our worth, the more we believe it—boosting confidence, self-acceptance, and the way we show up in the world.

It’s all about owning it!
